What the Snow Keeps
A locked cabin, a borrowed woodstove and the quietest week of the year — on wintering with a manuscript.

Roads, small towns and the people met along the way — I write novels and true stories about departures, returns and everything that happens in between.
About me
For fifteen years I have travelled with a notebook — night buses, border towns, wedding dances and quiet deserts. Every book begins as something I lived through, then becomes something you can step inside. What follows is the work that came out of those miles.
A shelf of honest books that outlast trends — stories written slowly, revised ruthlessly and published only when they earn their place.
To turn lived miles into pages worth keeping, and to meet readers face to face at every signing, festival and small-town bookshop.
One new book every two years, one journal entry every month, and a growing circle of readers who write back and shape what comes next.
My work
Two journeys, two shelves of the same life — a novel about going back, and twelve stories about never quite arriving. Both are in print and ready to travel to you.
A novel of small towns and long highways, in hardcover first edition.
Twelve stories of departures and returns, in paperback.

Three deserts, one long coastline and a notebook full of quiet — my new travel memoir crosses empty country in search of stillness, and brings back the strangest, warmest people I have ever met. First edition hardcover with map endpapers.
Grab it nowLetters, margin notes and reading-group arguments — this is why the miles were worth it.
Testimonial
"I finished it on a night train and sat awake until my stop, just watching the dark go by. Nobody writes distance the way this writer does — every mile feels earned."
