About me
The Writer Behind the Miles.
I write novels and true stories about departures and returns — and I travel first, write second. This is how that habit became Marrowlight Editorial.
My story
Fifteen Years of Notebooks.
It started with a one-way ticket and a cheap notebook. I wrote down bus timetables, wedding speeches, arguments overheard at rest stops — anything true. Years later those notebooks became a first novel, then a shelf of stories, then a memoir written across three deserts.
Marrowlight Editorial is my one-person publishing imprint: I write the books, walk them to readers at signings and festivals, and answer every letter the journal sends me. No ghostwriters, no shortcuts — just miles, drafts and more drafts.
Process
How a Book Gets Made.
Every title on the shelf went through the same four stages — most of the time is spent on stage three.
01 · Notebook
Months of travel with no agenda: conversations, landscapes and small humiliations, written down the same evening.
02 · First Draft
Ninety days at the same desk, phone off, word count on the wall. The draft is allowed to be terrible.
03 · Revision
A full year of cutting. Whole chapters walk out so the true ones can breathe — then readers I trust mark up the survivor.
04 · Print & Road
First editions, map endpapers, then the best part: readings, signings and long conversations in small bookshops.
My Vision
A shelf of honest books that outlast trends — stories written slowly, revised ruthlessly and published only when earned.
My Goal
One new book every two years, one journal entry every month, and a growing circle of readers who write back.
